NALN was set up to support students progressing to Higher Education, and it is their stories that demonstrate the value of our work. As well as the students featured below, we regularly have student speakers at the NALN Annual Conference as a powerful reminder of the importance of equal access to higher education.

Nadine Angela is an Artist Blacksmith and recently graduated from Hereford College of Arts with an honours degree in Artist Blacksmithing. Hereford offers the only artist blacksmithing course in the country.
Through playing the guitar Daniel first became interested in how they were made and went onto train as a guitar maker in Devon. After a number of years making guitars Daniel returned to Newcastle After four years Daniel's love of wood spurred him onto train at the University of Cumbria, studying Contemporary Applied Arts, specialising in Furniture Craft.
