Art from the heart:The perceptions of students from widening participation backgrounds of progression to and through HE Art and Design

The project's aims were to:
- Track the experience of different aspects of Higher Education (HE) of a sample of students from widening participation backgrounds, on a range of HE courses at two NALN institutions;
- Assess the extent to and ways in which widening participation issues identified by students and staff are specific to HE Art and Design or are generic to experience of HE;
- Track the development of students from widening participation backgrounds’ Art and Design practice, over the first two years of HE;
- Assess the extent to and ways in which students from widening participation backgrounds use their own experience in their Art and Design practice;
- Assess the extent to and ways in which two NALN institutions address widening participation issues identified by students and staff ;
- Identify the distinctive contribution of the NALN in addressing widening participation issues identified by students and staff at two NALN institutions.
